Slow Newsday, Eh Urinal Sentinel?

Would everyone in the room please raise your hands if you care about the young male audience glued to such shows as Fox's "The O.C." or MTV's "Laguna Beach?"

Yeah, that's kinda what I thought. NO ONE CARES!!! Why does the Urinal Sentinel then think that this particular story deserves front page coverage?!? Who, but the networks, give a rat's ass about the demographics of these ridiculous television shows?!? I know I don't.

One thing that I can for sure say about this is that my father would surely disapprove of the current students at Marquette University. I know for a fact that when he attended the University he wasn't worried about some pansy's life in Southern California. From the stories I recall, it was more like Hemi motors and the tavern he ran.

What happened to the Marquette University student base? Maybe, just maybe, this is why we haven't heard anything too outstanding from their athletic department...

Pictured below is a group of gentlemen with questionable sexual orientations watching this crappy drama on the Fox network about teenagers in Orange County, California...

World's Most Heinous Dog Dies of Heart Failure

Sad news, everyone. This past week the world's ugliest dog (pictured above), Sam, died of heart failure just shy of 15 years old. This dog is absolutely heinous. It looks like a big rat or a possum. The poor dog was taken in 6 years ago by a rescue worker who was clearly out of her mind. One thing is for sure, she (the rescue worker) may no longer have a dog that holds the 3 time World's ugliest dog title and she also won't have people staring at her as she walks the damned thing down the street.

Seriously, it is too bad that the United States no longer harbors the world's ugliest dog. As a country that is so diverse and appreciates the opportunity to be number one in every category, no longer being able to boast such a prestigious accolade the whole nation should be in mourning. Truly we have lost a hero. On the plus side, Hilary Clinton has announced her candidacy to sweep this award. Way to go Hil!

Happy Thanksgiving

A quick note from the management here at DCS before I review some holiday reflections... To all readers: Thank you for your readership and patronage. Knowing that in the blogoshpere I have people who read my blog and give a hoot about what I have to say, I am thankful.

Okay, with that out of the way. After having read a post on Vaspers the Grate I remembered something. Vaspers eluded to Thanksgiving being a holy day, and it most certainly is. If we all remember correctly, our fore fathers set this holiday as a time to reflect and thank God (yes, I said God, and as you can plainly see God does have a capital "G" on the front of it). It was a time for us to be thankful to God (there it is again) for what He has given us. Truly I am thankful for where I am in my life. A more detailed list to follow:

1. For my mother and father who talk me everything I know about life.
2. For my natural talents and abilities which have afforded me the opportunities that I have been so fortunate to take advantage of.
3. For this blog, an avenue for all that is good, right, and conservative.
4. For the Miller brand of beers, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Captain Morgan's brand of spiced rum and Sapphire Gin.
5. For the thriving (although not at the moment) automotive industry.
6. For tomahawk cruise missiles.
7. For Smith & Wesson .357 magnum revolvers.
8. For my siblings who give me pleasant headaches.
9. For combustion engines, particularly the 350+ cubic inch varieties.
10. And, last but not least, women.

This list was compiled in a rather quick manner, and there are more things and people that I am certainly thankful for. If you have been missed, my deepest regrets go out to you.

A Happy Thanksgiving to all, and may you come shop frivolously at my dealership over the holiday season!

VW Celebrates 50 Years in America

VWoA Inc. is celebrating 50 years in America. VW, a car company that embraces being different and being proud of it has had an interesting 50 years in this country. From the cult classic original beetle (which, by the way, surpassed the Ford Model T in the most production units of a car) all the way to the new Volkswagen Eos which is due out in May, 2006.

VW set up a nice little site, FiftyOnTheRoad.com where they have photos of hundreds of VW owners and their cars. The love for the brand is one of the reasons I have been selling them for almost three years now. Thanks, VW, for being part of my history too.

Couple of my favorite pictures from the site...

Little kid likes the VW Chrome.

Cool, clean, little VW.

Nice hair, nice old Beetle.

A family obsession.

Gripper buys his last VW, a Phaeton.

The new Volkswagen Eos, due in May 2006. The Eos will be a 2 door, 4 seat glass hard top convertible. It will also come equipped with a moonroof. This will be one interesting car...

So You Think You're a Tree Hugger?

Oh yeah, I heard this on Sykes (620AM WTMJ) this morning and I checked it out. This is real. These people exist. Just when you think you have seen it all, another whacko comes out of left field. You must visit this website for yourselves to believe.

The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement or VHEMT asks that people no longer procreate at all in order to return the earth to it's natural state where our human race doesn't consume the majority of resources. Yeah. Now now, to join you don't have to commit suicide, because they aren't about death. They just want us to no longer procreate and live out our lives. The goals of VHEMT are long term, and the group realizes that it will take centuries before the earth returns to it's natural state.

"Hokay, so, ahh, dohn't even tink aboooouuuut rehprodhuckshun! You khan have, likah, sex, but whear proteckshun or pull out or somthingk."

Okay, a couple of things here.... wait, wait... the room is spinning really fast now... hold on... Gees, I just threw up a little bit right now. Yecch, bile...

Okay. 1. These people are nuts. 2. At least they are realistic. They know everyone is laughing at them and slim to none will participate. 3. They are the ultimate tree huggers. To all you wannabe pot smokin', Jerry Garcia lovin', President Bush/War hatin', tree huggin' liberals get with the times. You are NOT tree huggers unless you join VHEMT.

Knowing this, I do have advice for the weirdos over at VHEMT. Get on a plane and fly to Africa. Find every native in the country who isn't familiar with your organization and/or condoms. Teach them your ways and how to use protection. Lather, rinse, repeat. See you upon arrival of the four horseman.

A note to the gentle reader following this post: You really didn't think I had changed, did you? I am back, and with a vengeance. It is slow in the office, and I will be attacking all stupid anon posters and commenters who dare to challenge the management here at DCS. In addition, all bozos out there like VHEMT should be aware that I will continue to berate and humiliate them through means of my blogging power. Ha! Just because the page has been pretty dry for a month doesn't mean I haven't been paying attention....

Slaggin' Sales Bring New Promos...

As I write this entry it is currently 31 degrees with the wind coming out of the west at approximately 15 mph and lightly flurrying. Why the weather update in Milwaukee, WI.? Because it is one of the final nails in the sales coffin that I currently reside.

Although I am in a market that is currently depressed for several factors (weather up here being one of them), I wouldn't trade my spot with GM for anything outside of a billion dollars, U.S.

Although GM promised it would eliminate incentive based selling on it's '06 products, it has already reneged on the deal. Moving away from "Value Pricing," it has opted for what is known as the "Red Tag" event. This particular sales event will run from now into early January and will include special financing and rebates to move stagnant swamp product including '05 and '06 models. Autoextremist.com has a nice take on it at their site (scroll down the page half way). They put is best with the comment at the end of their short take in reference to GM's "Death Spiral."

The question is, where does the "Death Spiral" lead?

Calvin and Hobbes

On the "Slate" page affiliated with MSN, Chris Suellentrop writes a great article about the timeless comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. Anyone who is a fan of the strip would enjoy the article and the analytical breakdown of creator Bill Watterson, his career and the individual comic strips tied together. This article, of course, a plug for Watterson's new book "The Complete Calvin and Hobbes." Something I will obtain for my library as I am enthralled with the strip.

Pat Tillman Video Tribute

Watch this video if you haven't seen it. A great man, and a great tribute to him. The link for it is here. God Bless Pat Tillman.

McGee Update - More Controversy Quickly

Here is the mug shot. It really doesn't LOOK like your head was slammed onto the hood of a car. You look just fine.

In addition, at the "peaceful" rally mentioned in the Urinal Sentinel, a fight broke out. Granted McGee Sr. was provoked by the white bystander, his actions should definitely have been reconsidered. Looks as if to me the McGee family has an anger management problem.

This article can also be found at the Urinal Sentinel site here.

The "Most Honorable" Ald. Michael McGee

Racism! False Arrests! Disorderly Conduct! Police Brutality! Unprovoked Beatings!

Alderman, with all due respect, "You are stuck on stupid!" Your story stinks, it is full of holes, no one is targeting you and we all know you are using this scenario to get some press coverage and face time.

Why can't you admit that what you did was wrong? Why can't you own up to your actions like any respectable man would? Why can't act PROFESSIONAL?!? This is some high school drama bullshit you pulled, and you know it. What a bunch of crap. This sounds like some crap my drunken friends would pull when they were 17.

But you, you are SUPPOSED to be a leader in this community. You are SUPPOSED to set an example. You are SUPPOSED to be a bigger man. Now ask yourself, did you do any of these things? No you didn't.

Instead you are out there screaming your bloody head off and playing an unjustifiable race card. I can hear it now.... "They beat me like Rodney King! They targeted me because I am black! They want to eliminate us and dust us under the rug! They want to oppress us, the black community!"

My stomach is turning. You make me sick. You weren't beaten, your mug shot proves it. You weren't targeted because you are black, it's because you were seen in a parking lot after said business closed loitering for twenty minutes. That looks suspicious if anyone does it. No one is oppressing you. No one is trying to hold you down. You are a friggin' alderman for crying out loud! You are an elected official! If "the man" was trying to hold you down you wouldn't hold an elected office! Using your bullshit logic I could say the man is holding me down because I am not selling 50 cars a month and people always try to negotiate my prices.

For those who don't know about the story and whom I am referring to, you can check out the article here. The Urinal Sentinel has an article on the guy and his mug shot. To shed some light on the subject, this is the alderman who pushed for slavery reparations a couple years back. He is an egomaniacal prick who like to listen to himself talk.

All I Want for Christmas is the R Line

The new "R" line is absolutely incredible. Nothing done by a manufacturer to this point can possibly match what of what VW and HPA have done to the new Jetta, new Passat, and Touareg. VW wanted to make and appearance at SEMA this year with three possible production vehicles and show the industry just what you could do with these cars. Either swapping out engines or installing twin turbo systems (among other multiple mechanical upgrades), these two firms have created monsters. The full story is available at VW Vortex.

Da Biz Last Month

October. Horrid, horrid October. Well, it's grim. Bad went to worse in the late months of the year for the business. With the summer employee pricing plan pulling an estimated 30 million some buyers out of the market 6 months premature, it has had a bigger effect on the market than any analyst or expert could have possibly expected. And, the numbers are there to prove it.

From AutoExtremist.com, "The domestic auto companies reported their worst sales performance in years in October, with their share of the market plunging to just over 52 percent - a new historic low." They go on to say "...truck and SUV sales went off a cliff, down by half in most cases." And to show what happens when you DON'T offer employee pricing programs/incentive based selling, "To add the icing to Detroit's miserable cake, Toyota captured 15.1 percent of the U.S. market - a new historic high."

I would just like to say that I have been preaching this over and over, again and again in this blog and elsewhere. I WAS RIGHT! Nyah Nyah Nyah!!! Ha! Thank you, that is a large feather in my cap.

On the plus side, IF the big three decide to continue with value pricing and offer revamped products that are competitive to the import product and desirable to the buying public, we can see a positive turnaround in approximately five years. This, by the way, is a big IF. The big three have to follow through with their intentions to realize this success.

In other news, Kudos to Honda on the new Civic. Although the quality of components used to construct the body aren't as solid as I would have liked to of seen, it is a nice change from the previous model. Honda which had been losing sales in the tuner market/youth market have a new hit on their hands that has a fresh design. See picture below.

By the way, it's slow here too. Although we have some new product, aggressive programs, and a stable product, we are feeling some of the pain inflicted by the errors of the big three. I suspect I will survive the long cold winter, but I may have to cut some non essentials out of the budget. I see a turnaround in mid January when the new Passat gets a little more recognition.

Bad Day

How fast do you have to be going to do this?!? Ouch. That's a bad day.

Common Sense in the Last Place You'd Look

A short take in the Urinal Sentinel reveals that rapper 50 Cent came out against Kanye West and his ridiculous comments made on the Hurricane Katrina telethon.

In an interview on ContactMusic.com, 50 Cent said "I think people responded to it(Hurricane Katrina) the best way they can." He went on to say "What Kanye West was saying, I don't know where that came from." 50 Cent also went on to say later that Hurricane Katrina was an act of God.

I am surprised. Bewildered if you will. Usually you don't get commentary like this out of anyone in the show business, much less a rapper. I applaud 50 Cent for his common sense. Sad that I have to do these types of things nowadays.
