Goodbye, GM

GM continues employee pricing... I don't currently have the words right now to describe how backwards this makes me feel. My stomach is churning, I am nauseous. Why?? THE DEAL IS ON FRIGGIN' '06 MODELS!!!!! GM, you are screwed for '06. You'll will have to continue this promo to get people to buy your crap cars. Furthermore, as I blogged here you said you were done with this for '06 model years. No deals, no rebates, true market pricing. Guess not. Have fun going down the tubes, I am saddened to watch it happen, but that's where you are headed.

I also am shocked at how GM continues shooting itself in the foot, then sticking that foot of soot in their mouth.

Bob Lutz outsourced his post comment reading to a staff that issued periodic summaries and suggestions.

People wish to interact candidly, which means often hotly, with actual individuals, not staff, not ghosts, not teams, not departments.

You can bet that GM will soon announce that they can 'no longer afford' certain fringe bennies for their employees.

Likely will be true. At the rate they are going, they will not be 'able to afford' employees, either...

Last time I checked, they are still generating profit. They're just slimming their profit margin. Yes, they are in trouble but I think they will find their way out. No, I don't think they are going out of business, and if they do, we should all consider the consequences.

"That employee pricing junk is so foolish." Spoken from a man with his only experience coming from StratSim... hmmmm. Actually, let me see who of you here could handle a multi-billion dollar company. Nope. None of you.

Don't forget, we can comment all we want but the people in charge of GM are certainly more qualified than us.

GM is losing money on every car pushed out the door with the employee pricing campaign.

If I was running GM, I sould slim down the amount of dealers, immediately cut SUV lines and production(by at least half), axe Pontiac or Buick, and sell Saab. Then, I would actually start developing product people want and like, in addition to becoming a pioneer in developing industry firsts.

That's just me...
