Bush vs. Hollywood

Here is an incredibly fascinating article from Steve Czaban at Czabe.com. Czaban does some sports commentary on a couple of local radio programs and morning shows that I am familiar with. This article was forwarded to me by a friend and proved for very good reading, front to back. Taking a line from Ann Coulter, info you need to know in case you must argue with a liberal.

Basically the article goes into Bush and key cabinet members educations vs. educations of frequent Hollywood nay-sayers whose typical liberal response to any piece of argumentative commentary is, "Durh, the president is stupid!"

A good read.

An example of Typical Republican Hypocrisy

Bush Jr. on Clinton and Kosovo:

George W. Bush, 6/5/99

“I think it’s also important for the president to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn.”

George W. Bush, 4/9/99:

“Victory means exit strategy, and it’s important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is.”

Bush Jr. Now

George W. Bush, 6/24/05:

“It doesn’t make any sense to have a timetable. You know, if you give a timetable, you’re — you’re conceding too much to the enemy.”

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson Then on Clinton:

"On February 2, 1999, Hutchison stood with a bipartisan group of senators at a press conference announcing a resolution to open the Senate trial on the impeachment of President Clinton. At the time, Hutchison said it was vitally important to prosecute on perjury charges because telling the truth is the lynch pin of our criminal justice system:

[S]omething needs to be said that is a clear message that our rule of law is intact and the standards for perjury and obstruction of justice are not gray. And I think it is most important that we make that statement and that it be on the record for history.

I very much worry that with the evidence that we have seen that grand juries across America are going to start asking questions about what is obstruction of justice, what is perjury. And I don’t want there to be any lessening of the standard. Because our system of criminal justice depends on people telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. That is the lynch pin of our criminal justice system and I don’t want it to be faded in any way."

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson Now:

"I certainly hope that if there is going to be an indictment that says something happened, that it is an indictment on a crime and not some perjury technicality where they couldn’t indict on the crime so they go to something just to show that their two years of investigation were not a waste of time and dollars."

Gee, with all them smarts it makes you wonder how they are able to screw up our country. All the article proves is that resumes don't mean Squat.

Touche Anon, read my opening line though... With no identity or call name, your opinions mean squat!

Poli, to compare W and Iraq to Clinton and Kosovo regarding exit strategies and war plans is asinine and you know it. It is pretty obvious that Kosovo and Iraq situations are from two different worlds. Explain to me in a detailed outine otherwise....

Kosovo is not a hotbed of terrorists, insurgents, and hatred for the United States. Furthermore, Kosovo doesn't have the same intentions that the former Iraqi state and the terrorists do against the United States, much less the means to execute their intentions if they did exist.

Come on, you really weren't serious?

Besides that point, the premise of the article was to attack the Hollywood morons who do nothing but criticize those that don't represent their agendas at said time. You didn't respond to that portion of the article, which tells me that you probably don't take anything coming out of Hollywood with more than a grain of salt. I KNOW you are an intelligent person, and I do respect your opinions and beliefs. Just don't prove me wrong on this one....

Your right DCS, Kosovo was different. We were trying to prove to the world that we could co-exist with muslims and that we could be sensitive to their beliefs and needs. In Iraq we are trying to break the backs of Muslims and make them submissive only to succeed in making more and newer enemies, like the rest of the world.

Ronald Reagan realized that Democrats would not elect an actor to the presidency so he became a Republican. Actors and Hollywood may run their mouths but it is the Republicans who give them ultimate power.

Puhhhleeeasee Viet Vet! Give me some definitive proof that republicans are supporting Hollywood leftists to slaughter them(republicans) in the political arena.

Why don't we just tie up our own nooses in the gallows...

I can give you list of republican actors that each and everyday attempt to slaughter dems. Bill O'Reilly, Anne Coulter, Brit Hume, Shaun Hannity, Rush Limpaw, Fox and Friends.... Remember they are just actors and not learned authoritarians. Hope the news don't kill you. Actually you are soo good at providing the daily talking points you might qualify to be an actor. Everything you post has been scripted and lacking in original thought. I forgot to add Bush to the list of actors. I challenge anyone to watch the movie "The Last Picture Show" and if you don't see Bush's learned persona what a fool you are.

DCS says:

"Kosovo is not a hotbed of terrorists, insurgents, and hatred for the United States."

Iraq wasn't either until AFTER we invaded.

"Furthermore, Kosovo doesn't have the same intentions that the former Iraqi state and the terrorists do against the United States, much less the means to execute their intentions if they did exist."

Iraq had no ties to Al Qaeda, no WMD, and no links to 9/11 prior to our invasion of their country.

The real enemies after 9/11 were Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia.

Iraq was never a threat to the United States.

Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, North Korea, and Iran remain threats to the United States.

Unfortunately we are so over extended due to Iraq both monetarily and militarily that if we really had to defend ourselves against a real threat we would not be able to.

"Come on, you really weren't serious?"

Serious or not serious about what?

Bush refuses to give any plan or timeline in regards to Iraq yet he demanded one of Clinton in regards to Kosovo.

DCS, I know you are smart.

Please, please, please don't tell me you actually believe Iraq was ever a threat to our national security.

We were lied to. Iraq had no WMD,Iraq was not buying yellow cake Uranium, Iraq had no weapons programs, Iraq had no links to Al Qaeda, Iraq had no ties to 9/11.

The real enemy here is Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan.

We should be focused on catching Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind of 9/11 and thwarting Al Qaeda.

Instead we are bogged down in the quagmire of Iraq with no plan, no strategy, and no purpose.

For every insurgent we kill in Iraq, we create 10 more.

Bush's lack of leadership in regards to Iraq will ensure that our mission there (whatever it is) fails.

vvwkb,

Get serious. First you claim that Reagan was a Democrat!?! Reagan was fiscally conservative, allowed prayer in school, and was against big government. If you call that a Democrat, then I am one big ass.

Secondly, you list Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Coulter, Colmes, etc as all being actors? Ummm. Another idiot remark. All of the people listed are political analysts and experts. They work in the political industry. They, unlike hollywood "stars", work diligently over the course of the day to cover stories. They research. They investigate. They don't get their political information at the local Starbuck's over a Grand Latte.

As for Poli, two things.

1) Didn't your mother ever tell you not to compare apples to oranges?

2) It was proven that your good pal Hussein was trying to purchase yellow cake uranium in Africa. Wilson, a completely biased moron fabricated his investigation to make Bush look bad in his Iraq efforts.

hey Neo-Contastic Big Ass, Reagan was a Democrat when he was elected governor of California then switched to the Republican Party in his bid for president. You called it man. You are a BA.

Oh really? It was proven huh? Please provide me an independent link corroborating your claim and not some NeoCon propaganda.

If your claim is true, then why was Scooter Libby indicted today?

Let me remind you of what Joe Wilson DID NOT find in Africa.

What I Didn't Find in Africa by Joseph C. Wilson 4th

As far as "apples and oranges" go NeoCon, please don't confuse oranges for apples. Actually a typical NeoCon technique is to take apples, claim some of them oranges, then accuse everyone else is comparing apples and oranges when both are clearly apples.

If it looks like an apple, tastes like an apple, and smells like an apple, then by golly its an apple.

Stop trying to convince me it's an orange.

Maybe that type of propaganda works on you ditto heads but it doesn't work on independent free thinkers such as myself and VVWKB. We do not bow down to Dogma unlike the ultra-right National Socialist Republican Conservative Corrupt NeoCons.

Careful with the name calling VietVet, 'you are showing your maturity level...'

Furthermore VietVet, if you want to play the "name the bigmouth game," howzabout we start with CNN, ABC, CBS (with Dan Blather), NBC, Air America (Al Franken's brain child... shows you how much he has in that department), and every major newspaper in the country. That's for starters. I can name a handful of HOLLYWOOD actors who are conservative in nature and don't go around blathering about it or about their hatred for the left (this is because typically conservatives don't HATE the left as the left HATES the right, especially in their speech patterns.....).

Poli, OBVIOUSLY we cannot have an intelligent conversation about the middle east. YOU ARE NUTS if you don't think that Saddam had ties to Al Queda. You are NUTS if you don't think that any middle eastern Islamic extremist hotbed country doesn't have a deep hatred for the USA and doesn't harbor terrorism/terrorist groups/terrorist plans/terrorist actions etc. etc. etc. against the USA.

Get over. The war is justified. The war is here. The war isn't over yet. Go protest peacably if you like.

Gee, you mean like Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, and Syria? Ok I agree with you then...

So why are we in Iraq??????

No sir, the war was not justified. It was a bad mistake and Bush does not have the balls to admit it.

We should have focused all of our resources on Afghanistan and catching Bin Laden along with shutting down Al Qaeda. We should have put pressue on Saudi Arabia, militarily if need be, to help us catch Bin Laden and stop the funding of terrorism.

Iraq was the wrong country at the wrong time.

Afghanistan was a good start but we didn't finish the job there as we got severely distracted with Iraq.

If we were going to invade any country based on militant Islam and terrorism, we should have invaded Saudi Arabia.

Bush invaded Iraq for personal reasons not for national security and certainly not for the oil (see the current oil/gas prices).

DCS saying Saddam had ties to Al Qaeda then actually proving it are two different things.

Contrary to right-wing propaganda, the more times you tell a lie, it is still a lie. It does not become truth.

Saddam had NO TIES to Al Qaeda.

Prove me wrong. You can't. At least, not with independent sources.

I am sure you can find some right-wing propaganda to support your opinion but you cannot find any facts. Period. 'Nuff Said.

Oh yeah, God Bless Patrick Fitzgerald! A true American Hero!

Please DCS don't tell me you are buying the right wing propaganda that Fitzgerald is a partisan hack.

You don't believe that do you?

Did you watch his press conference? The man is as straight as an arrow.

I certainly hope you don't support Tom Delay, Bill Frist, Scooter Libby, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, GW Bush, Brownie, Safavian, Abramoff and all the other conservative crooks.

You cannot be that brain washed, can you?

And another thing DCS,

Iraq was not a militant Islamic State prior to our invasion. It was a secular country.

Now, after we have invaded, Iraq is in danger of becoming a Militant Islamic State LEGALLY. They are voting in the type of Government they want....Militant Islamic Theocracy!

Great Job Mr. Bush!!

Bush makes more terrorists that he kills.

Bush's only way out now is to use a nuclear weapon. With Iran calling for the destruction of Israel we could very well be on our way to WW III.

Ofcourse, being the Right Wing National Socialist you are, you are probably down with that, right?

Do you want world destruction in order to "kill" the Muslims?

You probably want us to just nuke all of the middle east including Israel.

Is that your idea of a solution?

Careful what you wish for. Bush is increasingly unstable these days and he has the launch codes.

It sure would be a great distraction from all the legal and political woes the Bush Administration is facing if he just dropped one.

I pray he doesn't go that far.

What do you pray for DCS?

The destruction of Islam and World Domination? That is what NeoCons dream of.

Are you a NeoCon?

What exactly are your "conservative values"?

What are you fighting for? Who is your enemy?
